Glasbern Organic Gardens
Luke Fajardo is in our charge of the gardens at Glasbern. This year 2008 the garden passed the Organic Standards of the Pennsylvania Certified Organic. Located right above our main barn sits one acre of organic produce, all for the sole purpose of delivering the finest quality and freshness straight to the Glasbern kitchen.
Over 30 different vegetables are grown from Arugula to Zucchini. We grow many of the common veggies like squash, potatoes, onions and garlic, but we also strive to bring new and interesting produce straight to the plate. Ten different varieties of heirloom tomatoes with a stunning array of colors and shapes, white carrots, lambs tongue lettuce, and 8 different micro greens to name a few of the specialty items grown.
We have three greenhouses on the hill. Two of which are heated all year long by an outdoor wood furnace. Everything is grown without the uses of herbicides and pesticides and instead is grown with love and care to bring our Kitchen and you our guests the best possible organic produce. So please come visit us at Glasbern and ask the inn keeper to contact me to provide you with a tour of our gardens.
